Insurance FAQ
Does Dr. Indman take my insurance?
It is my aim and practice to provide the highest quality of medical care
for my patients. I
have found it impossible to provide the quality of care and the time that
patients deserve while contracting with insurance companies. Our office is happy to work
with you to obtain the maximum insurance benefits possible.
Although we do
not contract directly with insurance companies, we will bill your
insurance company for you.
Can I see Dr. Indman if he is not on my plan?
Absolutely yes! You are free to see any
physician you choose! Your insurance benefits may vary depending
upon your coverage. The whole purpose of having PPO insurance is
to make it easy for you to see the physician of your choice. Usually
non-contracted physicians are covered at a slightly reduced rate than
in-plan physicians. We are happy to make arrangements with patients who
have HMO coverage or do not
have insurance coverage, so that we can make your care affordable.
Will I have to do my own insurance billing?
No. As a courtesy, we will
bill your insurance company for you.
Will I save money if I see someone on my insurance
The percentage that
insurance covers is not the only consideration. Having seen some
women advised to have a major surgery in whom it was not necessary, a
discounted rate on surgery they did not need would not have been a
bargain! Many procedures, such as ultrasound, diagnostic
hysteroscopy, and the Essure procedure are performed in our office at a much lower
total cost than if they
were done at a hospital or in a surgical center. Lastly, in
looking as cost consider value: can the contracted physician give
you the years of experience and level of care that you should have?
Why
doesn't Dr. Indman contract with insurance companies?
At one time he did.
But as insurance companies took more and more control away from
physicians, he found it impossible to offer the quality of care the
gives and still survive economically. Most insurance companies
rate structures severely penalize alternatives to hysterectomy, such as
myomectomy or hysteroscopic surgery. As a large part of his
practice is devoted to alternatives to hysterectomy, he had to choose
between offering hysterectomy as the only surgical procedure or
discontinuing insurance contracts.
Can I afford to see Dr. Indman?
Dr. Indman's fees are very
reasonable when compared to other specialists in our community, and much
lower then of some "experts". We work with you to make
your care as affordable as possible.
